Azulejos
Un panel de azulejos es la superficie perfecta para dar rienda suelta a cualquier idea y decorar una pared, dentro o fuera.
Yo trabajo especialmente en diseños inspirados en altares portugueses del siglo XVI, pero también en azulejos de Delft, en Talavera y Triana, en tapices, bordados y en la gran tradición de ilustraciones decorativas. Mis azulejos son más sueltos y ligeros que los habituales, pero beben de las mismas fuentes.
Cada panel es único y se hace a medida, incorporando elementos propios para personalizarlo al máximo. Los diseños no se repiten, ni se calcan ni retoman elementos de otros.
Lo encajo a mano alzada con acuarela, directamente sobre el esmalte, y a después con pinceladas muy sueltas, primero los colores y al final la línea de contorno.
Trabajo con azulejos industriales portugueses, finos y ligeros, o con azulejos hechos a mano en terracotta, más irregulares y parecidos a los antiguos. Hay azulejos de 10x10, 15x15 y 20x20.
Cada proyecto incluye bocetos preliminares hasta llegar al diseño final aprobado por el cliente y un boceto a tamaño natural. El precio no incluye el transporte ni el montaje.
Chimenea
La "lareira alentejana" típica de las casas del sur de Portugal. Este diseño de pájaros y flores se inspira en los altares portugueses del siglo XVI, todavía llenos de color antes de que llegara la moda del azul.
Los frutos son los que hay en el jardín de la casa: granadas, naranjas, limones, higos, uvas, olivos.
Fireplace
A “lareira alentejana” typical of southern Portugal, in my kitche. This design of birds and flowers is based on Portuguese altars of the XVI century, made in many colours, before the fashion for all blue became widespread.
The fruits are all from trees we have in the garden: oranges, lemons, pomengranates, figs, grapes, olives.

Tiles
A tile panel is the perfect surface for going wild on a wall, indoor or out.
I work mainly with designs inspired on Portuguese tile panels of the XVI century, but also on Talavera and Delft tiles, and tapestries, embroideries and all sorts of decorative illustrations. My tiles are more loose and light than the usual Spanish style, but I draw on the same sources, and use the same techniques.
Each panel is unique and custom made, totally personalized. I do not repeat designs, or trace sketches or reuse elements from other panels.
I sketch the design on watercolour directly on the glaze. This will disappear later during the firing, but it allows me to paint with quick brushstrokes in colour, and then later with the dark outline on top.
I work with industrial 5mm tiles , made in Portugal, which are light and easy to install, or with thicker terracotta handmade tiles, irregular and very like antique tiles. Sizes can be 10x10, 15x15 or 20x20.
Each project includes preliminary sketches until we arrive at a final version, and a full-size sketch. Price does not include transport or installation.
